Ethan Stevenson
Ethan Stevenson is a rising sophomore at Morehouse College majoring in economics. He is supporting Development and Alumni Relations in the Department of Neurology and Brain Sciences. During his time as an ORIGINS intern, Ethan has found ways he can take his interest in finance and connect it with a desire to help people.
What drew you to this opportunity?
The idea of being involved in helping others through philanthropy while building my network piqued my interest in the ORIGINS internship program.
What are you most excited about during your internship?
I am excited to develop strong relationships and meet like-minded people from around the world.
What is your most memorable college experience?
Moving into Morehouse College was my most memorable college experience. It was the start of lifelong friendships and a strong brotherhood that will always support me.
Where do you want to be in 10 years, and how can this internship help you get there?
I want to be a part of, or own, a cryptocurrency hedge fund or investment firm. The ORIGINS internship helped me connect with people like Vice President for Economic Development Alicia Wilson, who volunteered to introduce me to meet prominent board members of various financial institutions.
What does philanthropy mean to you?
Philanthropy means giving back out of the kindness of your heart. It is typically associated with mass amounts of wealth, but a philanthropist gives what they can to those who dedicate themselves to helping others.
What excites you most about spending your summer in Baltimore?
Fun fact, I am from Baltimore, Maryland. I do not live here anymore, but I get nostalgic whenever I come home to see my friends and family.
What is your biggest takeaway from what you’ve learned so far?
The biggest takeaway I have learned so far is the importance of giving back and creating a network of genuine, hardworking people.
