What is your most memorable college experience?

My most memorable college experience to date is our homecoming week in the fall. During our homecoming, we had a step show, tailgating, a football game, and a concert. The best part about homecoming is seeing all the alumni come back and having fun at their home by the sea.

Where do you want to be in 10 years, and how can this internship help you get there?

In ten years, I would like to be a successful journalist and someone who works with important elected officials to make change for People of Color. This internship will help me develop my networking skills and to be able to have successful interactions with everyone I meet. This internship will also allow me to understand the career of development and what other careers the world might have to offer me.

What does philanthropy mean to you?

Philanthropy to me is the act of constantly giving back to people. Many times, philanthropy will be seen through donations that are giving to a certain place or through people constantly giving back to their community.

What excites you most about spending your summer in Baltimore?

As someone who is from Baltimore, something that excites me for the summer is being able to explore new things. I am excited to rediscover what Baltimore has to offer.

What is something you are passionate about?

I have recently become passionate about are the dangers of children being online. In recent years, the internet usage for young and impressionable children has exploded. Increased utilization has resulted in dangers such as cyberbullying, human trafficking, sexual exploitation and sexual abuse. Globally, 79% of 15 – 24-year-olds are online, increasing their interaction with hate speech and misinformation at a young age. It is important that we keep children safe from the harms of the internet. Many suicide and self-harm cases can be the result of bullying from the internet.
